Björn Nelissen (Roermond 1977) lives and works in Haarlem, The Netherlands. He studied illustration at the Academy of Fine Arts in Maastricht.
The idea (story) lies at the base of his illustrations. “Without a good idea an illustration can only function as a decorative element at best, but it will not make the viewer think.”
The illustrations are (mostly) made digitally using software that is capable to mimic the look & feel of analog media. This way Bjorn combines the warm character of real paint and the versatility of a digital workflow.
